Ireland native Paul “Irish” Murphy may have opened the doors of Murphy's Irish Pub on Hilton Head Island in the summer of 2005, but he brought years of experience to his new business venture, and even some of his mother's favorite recipes! After working in a family "Pub" in New Ross County Wexford, "Irish" attended Cathal Brugha Street, Dublin's College of Hotel Management and Catering. Upon completion of his coursework, Irish left Ireland to continue his career in the cruise line industry where for the next five years, he worked for premier cruise lines, Crystal and Royal Caribbean.

After receiving his green card in the lottery, Irish left the cruise ship industry, moved to Hilton Head Island and spent the next ten years working at the Country Club of Hilton Head. Years of experience, combined with a dedication to provide his customers with authentic, Irish food and drink in a lively and fun atmosphere has made Murphy's Irish Pub one of the Island's most popular drinking and dining establishments with locals and visitors alike.
